Last time when i was doing my A levels studies at KTAR, cooking is prohibited in the hostel. Lazy me, i dun like to eat out, so i cook la.. with rice cooker. It was my first time making food then, so i took everything that i think i could handled from home. While i was rummaging, i found a cooker's recipe of tomato rice by maggi. You know..the ones that stuck to the ketchup bottle or whatever sauce's bottle.
Haha..so last saturday, i have a sudden desire to eat tomato rice. Nothing to cook at home...except rice...and ketchup.. Took me 3 days to upload the pics weh..sucky internet.. =_=
Recipe:
What u need is:
Oil
tomato ketchup
plum sauce (not necessary)
Rice (Duh!!)
Potato(added ingredient)
ginger, thinly sliced (preferably)
Star anise (bunga lawang) and Cinnamon Stick (bcz i hv them. omit both if dun like the taste)
Put everything in the rice cooker
*Reminder1: put tomato ketchup first before adding water. so that the total amount of liquid is just enuf to cook the rice. If u put the water at the required level before adding the ketchup, then it will end up too wet lo. ketchup is water mah..
*Reminder 2: if u add potatoes, then add more water. bcz potaotes takes up alot of water. Otherwise, ur rice will end up uncooked. if u dunno how much water to add, check on them from time to time to ensure enuf water is provoded.
Tadaa...tomato rice..
Jz be flexy on the ingred. As long as u dun forget to put the ketchup then it will turn out fine. Others u can leave it out!! Oh ya, put more ketchup ya? else it will taste like plain rice.
but then hor, cooking takes up more time than eating out. Thats a fact!! XD
